Who We Are

Our Roots

The 501 hub is part of a 3 phase project to build the first hospitality school in Belize, it currently serves as a training center for Belizeans looking to start a career in tourism, using internationally accredited training programs from the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute.

Owned by Lorena Zaldana and James Scott, both hospitality leaders with combined experience totaling over 40 years in hotel and restaurant management, the 501 hub is a first of its kind operation run completely by young Belizean apprentices eager to put their training to work.

Whether you are Vegan, vegetarian, meat lover or just an adventurous eater, the 501 hub is a foodie’s paradise. Taking inspiration from cultures around the world, and adding a Belizean twist using local ingredients, the menu options are just as unique as our team.

Food for Every Pallete

Our talented Chefs -in- the -making use seasonal ingredients in simple, handcrafted dishes served straight from our kitchen. Add even more to your experience with a selection from our signature beverages, and trust us—save room for dessert.

Peanut Butter & Jealous

With our version of a PB&J we’ve managed to put a new spin on an old classic. We use home made sweet potato jam and beet and papaya coulis. we borrowed some tricks from the French toast and crossed our fingers. Are you ready for this culinary sensation?

the Waffle

Waffles - they are sinful, can be sweet or savory, crunchy and soft. choose from one of our unique topping combinations like marshmallows and berries, banana peanut butter, bacon & BBQ or cinnamon apple. If you can't choose, no problem! just have them all.

Cilantro Shrimp Pita

This latest addition to our menu has already become our customers’ favorite. Day or night, our Cilantro shrimp pita is the dish you’ve been craving. Don’t forget to ask your server about our special extras!

The 501 Smokin'

With our 501 Smokin', we immediately had a crowd favorite, smoked in our back yard and served with Belizean rice & beans or our variety of sides. Are you ready for this culinary sensation?


Many restaurants have their own take on tacos, but we’re confident that ours are the best, always prepared to perfection with your choice of smoked chicken, smoked BBQ glazed pork belly, smoked teriyaki tofu, or spicy cilantro shrimp. Perfect for sharing or have them all to yourself—you’ll enjoy it till the very last bite.

Garlicy Shrimpy Goodness

Another customer favorite, this is our spinoff on the Fettuccini Alfredo. Made with Zucchini "pasta" and a tahini and roasted pumpkin seed sauce - its finger licking good. Top it with our Garlic butter shrimp and you are good to go.
